How the check works, in four stages
The same four things happen every time, in this order, for everybody who answers. Written down here rather than described afterwards, because a check you cannot see the workings of is worth very little.
You answer
Ten questions in four parts: your bill, your house, what happens when the power goes out, and how close you are to choosing. They run in your browser, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you ask for a copy at the end.
It scores
Every answer is worth between zero and three points, against a table written before anybody had answered anything. There is no weighting, no curve and no hidden threshold inside a comparison.
It sorts
Your total falls into one of three bands, and your weakest answers pick the three things worth sorting out first. Every one of them is something you can do this week without spending anything or booking anybody.
It points
You get the one guide worth reading next, and a short section on what this check is not. That is where it stops. It names no price and predicts no saving.
What the check does, and what it does not
Most homeowners meet the solar decision the same way: a bill that has climbed, a knock at the door, and a set of figures they have no way to check. The ten questions above do not answer whether solar suits your house, because ten multiple-choice answers cannot. They tell you which parts of your own situation you can already put in front of a company, and which parts you would be guessing at.
Your answers stay in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you ask for a copy at the end, and the readout is a template filled in with what you picked, so the same answers always produce the same result.

What does the Solar Readiness Check actually do?
It asks you ten questions about your bill, your roof, your outages and where you are in the decision, then scores your answers against a fixed table and shows you the result. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you type your email at the end and ask for a copy.
Does the check tell me what solar would cost or save at my house?
No. It names no price and predicts no saving, because both are properties of your address, your rate plan and the financing you choose, and this page has seen none of those. What it gives you is a readiness band, three things to sort out that cost nothing, and the guide worth reading next.
Is the readout written by an AI?
No. The readout is a template filled in with your own answers. The same answers always produce the same result, and no model reads or writes any part of it.
The readout points at one of our homeowner guides depending on how you answer. None of them states a price, a payback period or an incentive amount either, for the same reason this page does not: those belong to a specific house and a specific proposal.
